The CASA Business Network (Climate and Sustainability Action) is a community of businesses, social enterprises and changemakers working together to accelerate climate action and sustainability across Southport, Sefton, the Liverpool City Region and West Lancashire. Created by The Hearth Network CIC, CASA connects local firms with anchor organisations (health, education, housing and tourism) to grow a greener, more resilient local economy.
Our mission
We help organisations reduce impact, share know‑how and unlock opportunities for sustainable growth. By collaborating, we strengthen local supply chains, support the journey to net zero, and make sustainable choices easy and accessible.
Site visit: Emmaus Merseyside & The Hive (Bootle)
Members toured community gardens, repair / upcycling workshops and food‑waste cooking at Emmaus, then visited the retrofit immersive space at The Hive. A brilliant example of circular economy in action and social impact working hand‑in‑hand with sustainability.
Member spotlight: Gang Of Elk at Southport Flower Show
Founder Becky Potter delivered a magical, low‑waste children’s forest school using reused and donated materials — from textile bunting and pallet bug hotels to repurposed tyres and wood offcuts — with fellow CASA members volunteering support. A great model for creative, circular events.
CASA connects councils, anchor organisations, and SMEs to drive local sustainability. Through events, resources, and a tiered membership model—Seed, Sapling, Oak—we support collaboration, ESG action, and community-led solutions aligned with One Planet Living and the UN SDGs.
Businesses and individuals can get involved with CASA by joining our tiered membership (Seed, Sapling, Oak), attending events, signing the CASA pledge, or collaborating on sustainability projects. Contact us or follow The CASA Network for updates and opportunities.
